The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County’s Arts in Education program has supported the integration of the arts into educational curricula in our schools for over a decade, and its impact continues to grow. Our grants enable schools and PTO/PTA groups to present quality performances and residencies for students in dance, history, music, theatre and arts-related or arts-integrated projects.

Arts in Education grants are open to all public and private accredited Pre-K-12 schools in Anne Arundel County. Schools may apply for up to two grants per school year. We try to fund as many programs as possible, based upon available funding; preference is given to Title I schools.

Please note that we are now using the same application form for both Auditorium and Residency Arts in Education Grants. The program guidance is available here.

Grant applications can be completed jointly by multiple staff members; click on the “Invite Collaborators” icon on the top left-hand corner of the application form.

In 2000, the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County first publicly recognized six exceptional Annie Award winners for their lasting, significant, and inspiring contribution to an art form, an arts organization, and/or the wider community of Anne Arundel County. This year will mark the 24th annual presentation of the prestigious arts award, and ACAAC will honor one member of the community in each of nine categories. The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 14th on the main stage at Maryland Hall, with a reception to follow in the Bowen Theatre. The public is welcome to attend.

The program guidance is available HERE. We recommend that you review the nomination form and guidance, draft your responses in Word or in a Google doc, and gather your support materials before completing the form. The form can be completed as a team by clicking the "Invite Collaborators" icon on the top right hand corner of the form. Please be aware that while collaborators can add/edit the form, only the person who created it can submit it.

Please note - previous Annie Award recipients are not eligible, EXCEPT in the category of Lifetime Achievement. A minimum of five years must have passed since the recipient's first award.
