The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County is a private, non-profit organization with the mission to encourage and invest in the visual arts, performing arts, and historic preservation for the people of our county. Our vision is to provide leadership in advocacy, funding, programming and information sharing in order to help create a vibrant cultural community that enriches the quality of life of every county resident. Funding is generously provided through Anne Arundel County, the Maryland State Arts Council, and the City of Annapolis, as well as a number of corporations, foundations, and private donors.

ARPA - Anne Arundel County Local Artist Support Program Grants 

Funding from the American Rescue Plan Act has been allocated by Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and the County Council to provide grants to rebuild the local arts economy. 

Grants for Independent Artists (open January 10-February 10, 2022)

ACAAC will offer one-time payments of up to $2,500 to Anne Arundel County based independent professional artists, to help compensate for financial losses sustained due to the pandemic. 

An information session for applicants was held on Tuesday, January 18th. A recording of the session is available here.

Grants for Arts Organizations (opening in February)

Small-to-medium nonprofit arts organizations will be eligible for funding to help overcome negative financial impacts of the pandemic. Guidelines and additional information  will be posted in January.

The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County is administering this program to distribute American Recovery Plan Act funding to the local arts community. ACAAC will offer one-time grants of up to $2,500 for Anne Arundel County-based independent, professional artists to compensate for financial losses sustained due to COVID-19. Receipt of a 2020 Anne Arundel County GAP Independent Artist award will not affect your eligibility for this grant.

A second program will follow, offering support to small to medium-sized non-profit arts organizations.
